Comments:
YILDIRAY, DOĞANAY and DOLUNAY are the first modern submarines build in Turkey. The others were build in Germany. The electronic systems have been modernized.
The mid-life modernization of this class is being planed. The last four submarines will be modernized between 2006 - 2012 for another 15 years of service.
On 9 July 2000 ATILAY sunk the decommissioned BERK by one Mk23 shot.
